A while ago we made a YouTube video outlining some of the pros and cons of living in North Ogden and Pleasant View in Northern Utah. Click the video above to watch! We put Pleasant View and North Ogden together because they are right next to each other and share a high school.
North Ogden is special to us because we lived there for a few years and it’s where our kids went to high school/are still going. The schools have been amazing and Bates Elementary even has a Chinese Immersion program that our daughter is in which goes all the way through high school. When I asked our oldest what his favorite thing about North Ogden is he said the views and the mountains. Which we agree with one hundred percent. That is one of the main reasons people live here. There is so much to do year round in the mountains. The location is also great if you work at Hill Air Force Base. When we lived in North Ogden both of us were driving to Hill AFB everyday and we would normally get there in about 20 minutes. Overall the biggest pro in our opinion is the mountains and close proximity to the ski hills and trails.
Some of the cons include the inversion which is when the nasty air gets pushed into the valley. The upside to this is that in North Ogden and Pleasant View you can get above it because you’re on the mountain. I’ve put a picture in to show what the inversion looks like. When we asked our oldest his least favorite he said “it’s kind of a long commute to Salt Lake”, which is about 45 minutes away. We also said this was a pro and a con because it is relative; North Ogden and Pleasant View are closer to Salt Lake City than Logan but further than Farmington.
Those are just a few of the pros and cons that we thought of. If you have any questions or are wondering about any other city give us a call at 801-821-9400 or email coryandrhonda@kw.com. We’ll also leave a contact form down below that is super easy to fill out!
